Own clinic in Copenhagen since 1999 – more than 25 years of daily clinical practice on Østerbro.
Registered under the Danish RAB scheme for alternative practitioners: sterile single-use needles, insurance and continuing education.
Most patients come with pain, allergies, sleep problems or a chronic condition that their medical treatment does not fully cover. The list is not exhaustive – if you are in doubt, ask.
Tension headache, migraine and chronic headache – treatment and prevention.
Seasonal allergies, pollen and dust mites. Treatment can start before the season.
Pain in the back, neck and shoulders, and nerve pain down the leg.
Ringing or buzzing in the ears – and the sleep problems that often follow.
Support alongside your medical treatment: energy, sleep and numbness in feet and hands.
Support for stiffness, tremor, sleep and wellbeing – always alongside your neurologist.

The first consultation takes longer than the ones that follow, because the diagnosis is the treatment.
We go through your symptoms, your history and what you hope will change. Bring a list of any medication you take.
I look at the tongue and pulse and combine it with your history – the classical TCM assessment. The diagnosis is made here in the clinic.
Fine, sterile single-use needles; depending on the case, cupping, gua sha, or ear points may be added. Most people relax or fall asleep during the treatment.

The clinic lies in the embassy district of Østerbro, a three-minute drive from UN City, which sits in the beach area by Tuborg Havn – home of the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Patients from the embassies and WHO employees are regular guests, and we have treated international and English-speaking patients for more than 20 years.
There are no fixed opening hours. Consultations are by appointment: call or write, and we will find a time that suits you. You will hear back the same working day.
You receive a receipt that you can send to your health insurer. Danish supplementary health insurance (sygesikring) and private health insurance may cover part of the treatment – check your policy, and bring the details when you come.
Payment is settled at the clinic. There is no online booking.
You are welcome to write in English. The message goes straight to the clinic, and you will hear back the same working day.
It is often quickest to talk together – especially if you are unsure whether acupuncture is right for you.
The diagnosis is made in the clinic: the treatment is based on the clinic’s own TCM assessment. Scans and test results from hospitals or your GP are not used as the basis for treatment.
Not a Danish medical doctor: Dr. Hao is trained in traditional Chinese medicine. Acupuncture does not replace emergency medical care – call 112 or your out-of-hours GP in an emergency.
